DANGER – Attacker Ahead!

DANGER – Attacker Ahead!

Before I get to the horrible bit in this blog - I mean the bit on that dark lonely street in Birmingham - let’s start all nice and innocently, shall we? September: season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, according to Keats. Children and teenagers back at school, summer almost over. Another year in the cycle [...]

Should you have Sex on Friday the 13th?

Should you have Sex on Friday the 13th?

Hmm. That is the question. Oh come on, it’s just the same as any other day of the year, isn’t it? That’s what all the sceptics and non-superstitious folk will claim. And in terms of having sex - or not, as the case may be - I guess it is just the same as any [...]

ONCE UPON A THOUSAND HILLS

Here is the blurb of my latest novel, followed by a taster of the first few pages. Naomi Lieberman is young, feisty, and desperately looking for meaning in life. Despite having a degree in forensic science, she works as a sales assistant at a sex shop in Soho. This is but one of the many [...]

When Love Hurts – from THIRTEEN STATES OF BEING

When Love Hurts – from THIRTEEN STATES OF BEING

You're in my bed again, at last, tonight.  You're in my home again - or maybe prison to you, but home to me - at last, tonight.  The moon is out, as it was that first night; but tonight only one pair of eyes is watching it.  Yours are closed as you lie fast asleep, [...]

One Love, One Life

One Love, One Life

One love to last us our entire lives. Isn’t that a beautiful thought? And isn’t it what we’re brought up to believe, right from earliest childhood? It might be influenced by our own parents as role models, if they had a happy marriage (they should be so lucky!) or, more likely, by fairy tales and [...]

More than a Passion

More than a Passion

At times of year such as Easter, when we search for more spiritual meaning in life (or at least some of us do), I always find myself remembering my first time at Greystones Abbey. Greystones, deep in the wild hills of northern England. Rather like Wuthering Heights, but much more heavenly - or so it [...]

To Be or Not to Be Honest

March 17, 2018March 17, 2018by Wendy Skorupski4 Comments on To Be or Not to Be Honest

I’ve just been to see Steven Spielberg’s The Post, which bored me ever so slightly at the beginning, to be honest (or not). But soon it got me so roped in by its central dilemma that it got me thinking about the question of honesty in all of our normal, humdrum lives. Not enormous issues [...]

Wendy Skorupski

My elixir of life is playing the piano and writing. I couldn’t live without either of those two dimensions! My two latest novels, 'Once Upon a Thousand Hills' and 'Infinite Stranger', are available on Amazon. I had an international upbringing in Cyprus and Vienna, and finished my higher education in England, qualifying as a Music and English teacher. I work in the field of international education, dividing my time between Krakow, Wroclaw, London and Liverpool. But I am mainly based in Krakow, my beloved fairytale city!
